Expectations and Values - What are they good for?





 

1. What are expectations and values? Use a dictionary to define each word.
respect , excellence,perseverance r- take care e- do your best in your

work p- try and never give up



2. Why do we have expectations and values in our classroom, school and community?
A2, because we can do the right thing and learn really inportint lesions



3. What are some of the expectations in your classroom?
A3. respect and encourage each other ,and work hard with maximum effort.



4. How do your classroom expectations influence your learning?
A4. they dont really make a difrence



5. What would your classroom be like if you had no expectations and you could
do whatever you wanted?
A5. no one would learn anything but it is pretty much the same



6. If you could make an expectation for your class what would it be and why?
A6to get all the help you need and to have a 3 hour long break.



7. What are your school values? How are they displayed in your classroom and at your
school?
A7.they are shown by people trying hard


8. How do you get recognised for displaying your school values?

by getting rep cards and badges  


9. How do you think your school values link to your learning in your classroom?
because you have to try your best that is like perseverance.


10. What are your family values and why are they important? If you don't have any come
up with some - what would be important values in your family and why?
A10.our valuse are to help each other.

Your Success - Who is responsible?



This week is all about ‘not giving up’.  

We are almost at the end of term one and we thought this was the perfect time to chat about what to do when things get hard!

Watch the videos before answering the prompts. They may help develop your thinking around having the ‘courage to continue’.

 


1. "Failures open the doors to success!" Tell us about a time when you failed with something?
A1. I lost at board games but then i found so strategys to help me win




2. Tell us about a time when you had success? What did you do to achieve success?
A2. I won a speech comp because i practised and had strong points.



3. We are responsible for our own success and learning. Do you agree or disagree and why?
A3.i agree because if we are making the wrong decision for our learning we wont get far
but if you need help then it is up to others to help you.



4. What is a challenge you have faced this year? Explain what happened.
A4. i found out that i had a learning problem and i did not know what to do so i got help from the teachers and im on the right track to success .



5. There's no such thing as an overnight success. What does this mean? Do you agree and why?
A5. i don't know


6. Why do we give up? What can we do to avoid giving up in the future? Who can help us?
A6. we give up because we find it to hard or not worth it , keep trying because nothing is impossible l,the people that can help you are everyone.



7. "If you do what is easy, your life will be hard." What is this trying to tell us?
A7.it telling us that if we keep doing the things we know we wont get anywhere so challenge yourself.



8. Inner confidence and self-belief are the keys to success. Do you agree or disagree and why?
A8. agree because if you dont think you can you wont.

How Well Do We Know Our Teachers?





This week is get to know your teacher time? As teachers we get to know a lot about
our students, their families, their hobbies, likes/dislikes etc.

How well do you know your teacher?

This may require a bit of work. You may need to ask your teacher some of these
questions to find out.



1. What schools did your teacher go to when they were growing up?
A1.st clair primary.

2. What is your favourite thing about your teacher and why is that important
to you?
A2 my favourite thing about my teacher is that he takes us out for lots of sport.


3. What does your teacher enjoy doing when they are away from school?
A3. going to the beach


4. What made them want to be a teacher?

A4. because he did



5. What is it about your school that your teacher likes the most?

A5. all the friendly students and teachers



6. Why are you his/her favourite students?
A6. because we are funny .



7. If your teacher could do another job what would it be and why?

A7. own his own business so he could be his own boss


8. What do you think your teacher would be great at if they were not a teacher?

A8. a fitness instructor

9. Why do you think it is important that you get to know your teacher?
A9. so he knows how to teach us the ways we need.

A10. give them more time to work and make learning fun .

Blogger Prompt - Week 7, Term 1, 2018 


NZ Census


Roll call! This year is a Census year. A census is a big question form that gathers lots of information about all the people in New Zealand. The census only happens every 5 years. It is a snapshot of the New Zealand population on one night every five years and is compulsory to complete.

Here are the questions for this week:

Q1: What is your favourite subject at school and why?
A1. my favourite subject in school is science because it is fun and easy to learn.




Q2: Do you have any pets? What are they and what are their names? If you don't have a pet what pet would you have if you did?
A2. yes i have pets a cat and a dog their names are charlotte (cat) maggie (dog)




Q3: What are some of your favourite foods?
A3.candy,take away,croquet and cake




Q4: What is your favourite sport? What do you like about it?
A4. My favourite sport is basketball because it is fun and you can run with the ball unlike netball.




Q5: What is your favourite hobby?
A5
acting , singing,dancing but my secret hobby is hula hooping because i think it is good to try something new and hula hooping is the fun little thing i like to do.





Q6: Who do you live with?
A6
i live with my mum and my dad and my big brother Neo and my cat Charlotte and my twin sister (shes a dog) Maggie


Q7: What is your ethnicity?
i was born in Australia and i lived happy there for 5 years the first five years of my life my mum was born there to and my dad was born in new Zealand .



Q8: The Census video talks about finding out if there are enough parks. Do you have a park in your suburb? Do you think your suburb needs a park or a better park? What would make it better?
A8
luckily for me and my dog we like to houses down from a park it is really fun and grate to take the dog for a walk i don't think we need more parks instead i think we should use the space to build more houses so we can some kiwis off the streets and lets be honest they mostly sleep at parks anyway.






Q9: Why do you think the government does a Census every 5 years?
A9 i think they have census every five years because there is a new generation of kids and adults and they need to ask them what they want in there community
and there trying to make it a happy place to live and visit.

A1. mum, dad and a brother. youngest. its good

A2. we are all close.

A3. middle sided because I wouldn't wont to be a only child.

A4. we go camping every year.
